At the beginning of each week, check a game later than yours time-wise (Monday night being the best choice so after you play your game, the week doesn’t end). Before playing your game, go to Owner’s Box and max out money on all advertising. Play your game and you’ll receive the attendence for the max advertising. When your game is over, go back to Owner’s Box and drop all advertising to $0. Go back to Play Week, uncheck the checked game and simulate the rest of the week. When you go back to Owner’s Box and check your balance sheet, the amount of overall spending for attendance will stay the same, but you’ll recieve the attendance boost.

If you create a player in franchise mode, make his attributes really low and then sign him for 7 years very cheap. As soon as you do, go back into create a player mode, and change all of your player’s attributes to 99. His wage won’t increase until his contract is up, but he will kick ass on the field.

First, turn off the trade deadline. Next, wait until the end of the season to see which of your players are retiring, but don’t save the game after you view them - just turn off the system. If the players that are retiring are good, you can trade them for a number of high draft picks. (Tip: Trade draft picks with a team with the worst record to get first picks of each round.) It’s as easy as that.

Having trouble beating the queen down in the temple? On your mini-map you should notice that there are little indents in the room. Stand in front of one of these little indents and wait for the Queen to charge, move out of the way and she will be stunned. Then attack her from behind using combos like X,X,A+A+A+A or A,A,X+X+X+X. After the Queen starts shooting 3 purple blobs at you, change from combos to the tornado kick move. The long annoying battle will be a walk in the park.

Sudeki Hint: Grave Stone Humor
Before facing Heigou, check out the gravestones in the Darkened Gardens. One is actually a reference to Zero Wing. It says, “All this grave belong to me.” The rest of them are pretty funny too.

Sudeki Hint: Defeating Central Processor Unit
It’s all about the patterns. Use the photon pistol which should do about 250 damage for every shot. Shoot it once in the eye as it lumbers toward you then run away until you hear a clank sound. This is when the robot attacks and then returns to the middle to charges up. During his walk back to the centre get close, wait for his charge up and strafe sideways away from the beam. When he powers down walk backwards and get in another shot. Repeat. After awhile the robot will recharge via electro arms that come out of the wall, use your Nano-tech skill and shoot the arm. You should take it down quickly with the occasional 1000 points of damage. Start the dodging and weaving again. Eventually the robot will start malfunctioning and charge at you after you destroy 4 electro arms. It will now occasionally do a whirlwind attack. Just take your time and shoot the eye when you get a good line. If done right and you get the patterns down you should be able to do this without getting hit. Don’t worry about the cylindrical robots that drop into the arena. If you keep moving you shouldn’t get hit.

Earn 800000 Command Points and the Juggernaut will be available (Colonel rank). The Juggernaut is the same as the Quasar in most respects, but has a larger weight limit.

Earn 10 medals and the Rapier Light VT will be available.

Steel Battalion Unlock Infinite Fuel And Ammo
Accrue 100 hours of play time and complete the 2080 Campaign once more. During the loading screen, press START + MAGAZINE CHANGE to unlock infinite fuel and ammo (bye-bye Wagonmaster!).

Steel Battalion Unlock No Weight Limit Mode
Play mission 6 on Normal or higher difficulty in campaign or free mission mode. Fight to the Jaralaac base. Although you cannot enter the base yet (that’s mission 7) you can “rescue” a friendly trooper past the base’s doors.

The base entrance constantly spawns Jaralaac-Cs and Ns, and coupled with the fact that the friendly trooper is about the size of an ant (compared to your VT) you may have one hell of a time trying to find and grab the trooper using the manipulator arm.

NOTE: Do not press manipulator or switch to another sub-weapon; the soldier needs to be held in the manipulator arm to unlock the cheat.

Finish the mission by fleeing back to the mission’s starting area. During a campaign or free mission stage, press START + MAIN WEAPON CYCLE during the screen that displays the call bands for Argus, Wagonmaster, and Oscar or X-Ray platoons; if done correctly, the message “WEP ALL” will appear in the upper right hand corner.

Steel Battalion Unlock Full Screen Mode
Earn 550000 Command Points to unlock Full Screen Mode. Press IGNITION + START while playing.

For an alternate method of looking around during night missions, play Mission 20 on Normal (or harder difficulty) in campaign or free mission mode. A tan-shirt soldier will be randomly placed on one of the black iron truss watchtowers. Use the manipulator arm to seize and hold him and finish the mission to unlock the searchlight.

NOTE: Do not press manipulator arm or switch to a sub-weapon or the cheat will not be unlocked. The soldier needs to be held in the manipulator to count.

You may find it easier to kill two of the three enemy VTs on the map before searching watchtowers. Also, if you have access to the Juggernaut or Quasar, the 430 SB cannon can destroy empty watchtowers with a few shots in order to mark which towers you’ve searched before. During night missions (i.e., mission 7 or 17) the F2 button can utilise the searchlight, which may or may not help some pilots.

Steel Battalion Unlock Black And White Graphics
Give Tekki an old fashioned look by finishing Mission 23 on Veteran or higher difficulty. Press START + NIGHTSCOPE while the mission is loading to enable switching between colour and black and white.

Steel Battalion Unlock VT Jumping
Finish Mission 23 on Magnum Force or higher difficulty. Press START + F3 while playing to make your VT jump (without using hydraulics). Done repeatedly, this jump can allow your VT to ascend to great heights.

Steel Battalion Invincibility
Clear the 2082 campaign after logging 200 or more hours (check pilot records - this is the aggregate Op Time). Go to the Controller Settings and enter the Controller Function Verification screen and enter the following buttons. The gear shifter should be in N, the flip switches should be in the Off positions, and the radio tuner should be pointing in the 9 o’clock position (cardinal left). Both large joysticks and the hat switch (SIGHT CHANGE) should be in neutral position. Each button entry should follow the previous entry within 10 seconds (preferably less).

NOTE: This cheat is verified on the Japanese version of the game; it also does not protect players from drowning or being killed by non-VT sources of damage (like tanks or traps). Secondary damage effects such as shutdown from railgun hits and other EMP damage are also not covered.

1. On the left console, shift the gear from R N 1 2 3 4 5 and back to N (start gear at N), then flip the toggle switches from its OFF position to ON then OFF in the following order:
1. FILT CONTROL SYSTEM
2. OXYGEN SUPPLY SYSTEM
3. FUEL FLOW RATE
4. BUFFER MATERIAL
5. VT LOCATION MEASUREMENT
2. On the left console, move the sight change stick (the hat switch) UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and from that position (RIGHT) do one complete rotation. Afterwards, move the left joystick (the big stick) LEFT, RIGHT, then let it center.
3. Onthe center console, press each communication button in order from left to right then press F1, TANK DETACH, F.S.S., F2, OVERRIDE, MAINPULATOR, F3, NIGHTSCOPE, LINE COLOUR CHANGE, WASHING, EXTINGUISHER, CHAFF, MAIN, SUB, MAGAZINE CHANGE.
4. On the center console, spin the tuner dial clockwise from 9 o’clock position until it goes through each click (click through 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock back to 9 o’clock position).
5. On the right console, press EJECT, COCKPIT HATCH, IGNITION, START, OPEN/CLOSE, MAP ZOOM, MODE SELECT, SUBMONITOR MODE SELECT, MAIN HUD ZOOM IN (labelled as IN), MAIN HUD ZOOM OUT (labelled as OUT).
6. On the right joystick (the big stick) press MAIN WEAPON, LOCK ON, SUBWEAPON (the trigger), and proceed to move the right joystick (from a neutral position) UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT and from the last position be rotated one full rotation.
7. On the foot unit, press and release the LEFT PEDAL (dodge), MIDDLE PEDAL (brake), RIGHT PEDAL (accelerate).
8. The LEDs should light up briefly if entered correctly.

Steel Battalion Unlock The Quasar VT
This can be done on Mission 7 or 17 in Campaign Mode. On the second and third levels of the Jaralaac base, there are four small rooms each guarded by a single Jaralaac VT. Defeat each Jaralaac VT and use your manipulator arm to open the box-like “VT coffins” in each room.

The Quasar is randomly hidden in one of those four “VT coffins”. When you find the Quasar, Argus will contact you about it. Finish the mission to unlock the Quasar for Campaign and Free modes. Note: you will still need to earn enough “rank points” (command points) to be able to purchase the Quasar for Campaign mode.

Steel Battalion Unlock No Fall Mode
Beat the game in “Desperado Mode”. During gameplay, press the HATCH and START buttons and your VT will never fall down.
